Boost Your Fertility with A Healthy Diet.
1. Switch to organic food, especially with meat & dairy products.
2. Reduce your intake of processed foods. Eat foods as close to their natural state as possible.
3. Reduce your intake of mucus forming foods such as dairy products, sugar & wheat.
4. Reduce all animal fats.
5. Take a good quality vitamin & mineral supplement.
6. Take a folic acid supplement.
7. Minimise your caffeine intake. Tea, coffee, chocolate & colas all contain caffeine.
8. Reduce your alcohol intake. Remember quality not quality, one glass of good quality wine rather than a whole bottle of plonk!
9. Drink! Drink! Drink! Water that is! Drink lots of good quality low sodium (bottled) water. 2 litres a day, or more if you exercise a lot or it is hot weather. If your body is dehydrated it can not function properly.
10. Get enough ‘good fats’, (omegas 3, 6 & 9.) in your diet by eating good quality nuts, seeds, fish and avocados. Take a good quality supplement if you think your diet is lacking.
11. Make sure you are getting enough protein in your diet. Fish, meat, eggs, nuts, seeds.
12. Increase the natural roughage in your diet by eating plenty of fruit and vegetables.
13. Don’t crash diet, this is very stressful to your body. If you are overweight (or underweight) speak to your GP, Practice nurse, a nutritionist or other health care professional about steady weight loss/gain.
14. Only eat when you are calm & relaxed, how you feel when you are eating affects your body’s ability to digest food & absorb nutrients properly.
15. A little of what you fancy does you good! Guilt is a big stress, so whatever you eat, enjoy it!
